Product Description
Optically, the binocular makes use of phase-corrected BAK4 roof prisms that are coated with highly-reflective silver coatings to maximize internal light transmission and limit diffraction. The objectives are fully multi-coated to further improve light transmission. These features complement each other and produce bright and clear high-contrast images with accurate color fidelity. By combining a relatively low magnification with large objective lenses, the binocular draws in copious amounts of light required for use in challenging light such as at dawn and dusk, or in heavy fog and thick cloud cover. The combination also produces a wide exit pupil to ensure complete coverage as they open and dilate in low light to ensure a full field of view and maximize light entering the eyes.
The compass uses both passive and active illumination so that during the day the ambient light passes through a diffuser filter to show the bearing indicators, and in low light or at night an LED emitter can be activated to provide illumination — ensuring easy readings in all conditions. An in-view ranging reticle is also included to enable users to estimate the distance to objects, or to estimate their size. These tools allow mariners to more accurately navigate waters. Rounding out the features in a nitrogen-filled and O-ring sealed housing for waterproof and fogproof performance, and a slip-resistant rubber armoring for sure handling in cold and wet conditions.
